Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This course is to help students brush up chemistry they have learned in high school and understand chemistry they will study in the university.


【Learning Objectives】
The aim of this couse is to understand basic principles of chemistry.
The subjects to learn in this class are composed of significant figure rules, stoichiometry, structure of atoms and molecules, basic nature of the chemical bond, intermolecular force, chemical resonance structure, and acids and bases.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students are expected to take an hour to read the corresponding pages of the textbook that will be referred to in the next lesson.
They are also expected to brush up what they learned by exercises given in the textbook and in the class.
Student are expected to spend an hour in total for each class meeting.

【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
Mid-term examination (35%), term-end examination (45%), exercise in each class meeting (10%), and in-class contribution (10%).
