Outline (in English)

-Outline and objectives-
Career design means, First of all, understand yourself, reconsider your way of life and work not only in your profession but also in various situations and opportunities in your life, consider future directions, and design yourself. Lessons incorporate a lot of discussions in order to experience and feel the career design. In the class questionnaire so far, the following comments have been received. 1. There is a good opportunity to talk with people from different departments, and to know what the same generation thinks about society. I can't exchange opinions very much in other classes, but I'm happy that I can exchange opinions in this class. It makes you think about the future and how to live in the future, and gives you great hints about your life. It's a good opportunity to look at yourself objectively. You can start thinking about what to do now about the future. 2. You can practice to convey your opinions and frank feelings to the other person, and to organize your thoughts and put them out. 3. Recommended for those who do not know what to do now, who have never thought about the future, or who are not confident in themselves. 4. By listening to and incorporating the values and ideas of others, you can deepen your thoughts and broaden your perspective and horizons. The instructor hopes that students who expect the above will take this course. In particular, I expect students to take courses in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades.

-Goal-
In thinking about career design, the goal is to be able to build and practice the students' own ideas from the following three perspectives. 1) Know yourself, 2)Think about developmental tasks, 3) Know the approach to deal with career design milestones.

-Method(s)-
[In the case of face-to-face lessons]: In the lessons, materials created by the instructor will be distributed and the lessons will be held. There are lectures, but the lessons are mainly group discussions. It is important "awareness" after group discussions. Participants should conduct a "Career Interview" with workers (explaining the implementation procedure in the 4th session), and Participants should make a presentation in the 10th and 11th sessions. The presentation time varies depending on the number of participants. If the presentation time will not enough time both the 10th and 11th sessions, the 12th session will be added. * As a reflection after each lesson, there is the creation of "Today's Awareness Sheet" (100 to 250 characters). The instructor uploads a word-format file of "Today's Awareness Sheet" to the assignment folder of the "Learning Support System", and Participants fill in this file after downloading and uploads it to the assignment folder. Feedback and comments on the submitted "Today's Awareness Sheet" will be sent to each student. Among the diversity of awareness and questions that should be introduced in class, the instructor will introduce them in class as appropriate.
[For online lessons (using ZOOM)]: It is necessary for the instructor to upload the materials for the next lesson in advance, and for the students to download and prepare the materials before each lesson (also for the first lesson). Materials will be uploaded in advance, so download is required). Group discussions use ZOOM's breakout room feature. The creation and feedback of "Today's Awareness Sheet" will be the same as in face-to-face lessons. Other than that, the procedure is the same as for face-to-face lessons.
-Work to be done outside of class (preparation, etc.) -
Two hours is the standard for out-of-class learning such as preparation and review of this class. It is necessary to organize your own way of thinking that you notice in each lecture. Career interviews are an issue. Career interviews are conducted with people who are close to you (preferably with at least 10 years of working experience. Online interviews are also possible). The details will be explained in the 4th class. Many participants commented that much was gained through this interview.
-Textbooks-
"Sa, Sainoni Mezameyou Shinban (English title: StrengthsFinder2.0)" (written by Tom Rath, translated by Hiroko Furuya / Nihon Keizai Shimbun Inc./Purchase a new edition of the book published in April 2017)
If you purchase the above books, you can access them on the Internet and "search for your strengths". This access code is already used for used books, so you need to purchase a new book. In order to use the data in the 3rd lecture, it is necessary to purchase it before the 3rd lecture and grasp the data (details will be explained in the 1st and 2nd lectures).
-Grading criteria-
Normal score (including submission of "Today's Awareness Sheet"): 35%
Assignment evaluation (Career Interview: face-to-face or online interview): 35%
Final exam results: 30%
