Outline (in English)

Various scientific methods of measuring human and animal mind are introduced in this course. The measurements here include obtaining behavioral and physiological responses employing experimental procedures. Basic anatomical and physiological knowledge are covered. The latter half of the course will focus on theories of perception, emotion, cognition, learning, and developments. “Clinical psychology” is not the core topic of this course since psychology is an interdisciplinary academic field of study. The students are required in this course to understand 1) means to measure mind and 2) mechanisms of stimulus (information) processing in “your” mind. The students are also required eventually to understand numerous differences between the so-called “concept of psychology” that we take for granted and authentic one. Hopefully the students will realize the real concept of psychology through this course. In this class, it is required that students spend approximately 2 hours each for preparation and review. Evaluation will be determined based on the assignments (20%) and final examination (80%).
