This course will provide students with speaking, listening, reading, and writing practice. Students will be given many opportunities to participate in discussions and to make presentations.

This content-based language course is for students interested in learning about a variety of current affairs in English. Some of the topics studied in this course are artificial intelligence, food waste, facial recognition technology, and self-driving vehicles.
到達目標Goal
1. Students will demonstrate improved speaking, listening, reading fluency.
2. Students will use current affairs to acquire and use language in context.
3. Students will become more capable of making presentations and participating in topical discussions.
4. Students will become better independent language learners.

Students are expected to complete homework assignments from the textbook and worksheets that will be provided by the teacher. University guidelines suggest preparation and review should be around one hour a week for a one-credit course.

The contents and timing of the syllabus are subject to change
according to the needs of the class. Class attendance is a course
requirement. In principle, no more than 4 absences per
semester are allowed. You must take the TOEIC test and complete the Academic Express assignment by the due date.
