Outline (in English)

The goal is to acquire comprehensive fundamental computational ability on linear algebra including eigenvalue problem and linear mapping, multiple integrals of real-valued functions, and solving differential equations on classical mechanics.

Based on the basic knowledge of linear algebra learned so far, students will learn the basic knowledge of integration of some basic functions and the basic knowledge of mechanics. The goal is to be free to perform the following calculations:
1. Matrix representing a mapping
2. Calculation of eigenvalues and eigenvectors
3. Integration of some simple features
4. Integration of two variables
5. Understanding of various forces and balances in mechanics

To develop various understandings in linear algebra, calculus, and mechanics, it is necessary to improve basic knowledge and basic mathematical calculation skills. In the classroom, we will give several practical assignments on these exercises in cooperation with the lectures on “Linear Algebra and its Application 1”, “Calculus and its Applications 1”, and “Basic Concepts of Physical Science”. According to the degree of understanding and importance, appropriate explanations will be given from assignments, examinations, and questions. Materials will be distributed and submitted through the "learning support system". Students will be expected to work more than one hour for a class.

“Pass or Fail” grading is adopted, based on the grades for several assignments, and reports in the class (100%).
