Outline (in English)
The main objective of this class is to understand the basics of Construction Grammar that integrates form and meaning. Form in constructions refers to any combination of syntactic, morphological, or phonological patterns. Meaning includes not only lexical semantics but also pragmatics, and discourse structure. Construction Grammar in this view is serves well for explaining linguistic expressions of all types.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
文の意味は文を構成する語の意味の総和に還元できない。構文自体が一定の意味を担う言語単位であり、文の意味は語彙情報と構文との関係から説明される。文の意味は、さらに言外の意味との相互作用から具体的になることを理解するのがこの授業の目的である。
到達目標Goal
この授業では構文意味論の基礎を理解することができる。
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
•understand the basics of the construction grammar which combines syntax and semantics.
•understand how meanings are reflected in the sentence patterns in both Japanese and English

毎回、構文意味論の各項目にある演習問題を確認し、授業中にフィードバックを行う。
