Outline (in English)
< Course outline >
This course is the sequence of the Electromagnetic-Wave Transmission Engineering (1). More advanced techniques and devices of the electromagnetic wave transmission and communications are introduced.
< Learning objectives >
By the end of the course, students are expected to acquire the following skills:
- Understanding of various functional devices in optical communications and processing
- Advanced knowledge of optical communication devices, including the multiplexer, switch, polarization rotator, and wavelength filter
< Learning activities outside of classroom >
Before each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content. Moreover, additional work is expected in case the report is assigned as homework.

通信伝送工学特論1に引き続いて、通信機能デバイスのより詳しい説明を行う。物理現象の理解に力点を置く。
到達目標Goal
通信回路の背後にある物理現象を理解し、自ら光通信回路を設計できるようにする。

通信伝送工学特論1に引き続いて、光通信機能デバイスに関する、さらに進んだ英語文献の講読を行う。講義の手法は通信伝送工学特論1と同様であるが、より高度な解析手法、特殊なデバイス応用に言及する。解決すべき問題点、将来展望についても触れる。
