Outline (in English)

Course outline:Fundamental and application of solid state physics and solid state electron theory. The lectures will cover topics which are necessary for those who will be engaging to the fundamental or development research on solid materials. In addition optical properties of molecular solids will be discussed.
Learning Objectives: The goals of this course are to deepen understanding of general properties of solids such as electron theory, magnetism, and optical properties of solids, and to understand semiconductors, magnetic materials, and superconductors through state-of-the-art examples. The course will also focus on the properties of molecular solids and their optical properties.
Learning activities outside of classroom: Prior understanding of the basics of quantum mechanics and statistical thermodynamics is desirable.
Grading Criteria /Policy:The grade will be evaluated based on the presentation of a report assigned to each student at the end of the lecture.
