Outline (in English)

This course introduces the basis of optical/infrared astronomy, especially stars and galaxies in the universe. The goal of this course is to understand stars and galaxies through reading the textbook, "Galaxies in the universe", in turns. Before each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the textbook. Final grade will be calculated according to presentation (50%) and discussion (50%).
