Outline (in English)

Outline and objectives: Classical control has dealt with systems in a frequency domain using Laplace transformation, but here this class learns about (post) modern control theory which expresses a system in a time domain. Learning is based on state equations and state transition matrices. The (post) modern control theory shows that multiple input / output systems can also be handled uniformly with good prospects.

Goal: The goals of this course are to help students understand the essence of the linear quadratic control and optimization methods, and to enable them to develop new control theories and optimization ones.

Learning activities outside of classroom: Students will be expected to review control engineering, linear algebra, and differential equations from their undergraduate studies, and to spend at least four hours to understand the course content before/after each class meeting.

Grading criteria: Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on comprehensive consideration of exercises 40%, reports 60% and etc.
