Outline (in English)

授業概要(Course outline)
Consumer electronics such as mobile phones, smartphones, personal computers, and televisions, as well as industrial electronic devices such as Internet servers and switches, are now rapidly evolving. It is an integrated circuit technology to support it.
In this class, we review the basic characteristics of each device used in integrated circuits, and learn about the applications and practical circuits using them. The transistor characteristics are modeled for the Spice Simulator, and the circuit simulation is performed using these models.
By the above, the operation of the application and the practical circuit is understood while actually observing the signal waveform. In the "Large Scale Integrated Circuit Engineering (1)", we learn mainly about bipolar transistors and bipolar integrated circuits, and in the "Large Scale Integrated Circuit Engineering (2)", we mainly study MOS transistors and MOS integrated circuits.

到達目標(Learning Objectives)
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings :
(1) To understand basic characteristics of each device used for an integrated circuit.
(2) To understand circuit characteristics of a basic circuit and an application circuit of an integrated circuit.
(3) To understand transistor model for Spice circuit simulation.
(4) To understand the circuit simulation technique using the transistor model.
(5) To understand in-depth circuit characteristics of an integrated circuit by utilizing a simulation.

授業時間外の学習(Learning activities outside of classroom)
After each class meeting, students will be expected to spend one hour to understand the course content.

成績評価の方法と基準(Grading Criteria /Policies)
