Outline (in English)
【Course outline】
Understanding acoustic engineering theory and practical method is necessary to reduce the noise generated from the machine, silent design of the product and sound quality improvement. In this lecture, we acquire skills that can apply applied knowledge necessary for low noise design of mechanical system.
【Learning Objectives】
In this class, students will be able to acquire the following skills
To understand the mathematical expression of sound propagation (wave motion).
To understand the classification and characteristics of noise according to its generation mechanism.
Understanding of practical noise analysis methods.
To understand the relationship between hearing and noise in relation to low noise design.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 4 hours each. Review of acoustical engineering will be done as needed.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Students will be evaluated comprehensively through in-class exercises and submission of assignments.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
機械から発生する騒音低減、製品の静音設計や音質向上を行うには、音響工学の理論と実践的な手法の理解が必要である。本講義では、機械システムの低騒音設計に必要な知識を応用的に展開できるような技術を習得する。
到達目標Goal
1. 音響の伝搬（波動）の数学的な表現が理解できる。
2. 騒音の発生機構による分類と特性が理解できる。
3. 騒音の分析法が実践的に理解できる。
4. 聴覚と騒音の関係を低騒音設計につなげることができる。

本講義では、実際の機械システムにおける振動騒音の制御に関して、より物理的な検討が行えるように、音波（波動現象）の数学的表現、空力騒音の流体力学的考察などについて説明する。同時に、騒音振動の解析技術についても概説する。また、機械騒音の音質向上技術として、人間が感じる音を評価するための音質評価技術（聴覚モデルや試験方法）についても述べ、実際の適用例を紹介する。
