Outline (in English)

The aim of this course is to study how to utilize the fundamentals of thermofluid dynamics using the conceptual design and analysis of heat power system. As the subject of heat power system, the gas turbine is mainly treated, which has wide range of applications including jet engines. The latest research and developmental trends of jet engines are also addressed in environmental and ecological aspects. By the end of the course, students should be able to understand the operating principles and the application to the latest research and developmental goals of gas turbine. Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to prepare and review the course content. Grading will be determined based on assignments in each meeting(60%), and the term-end report(40%).
