Outline (in English)

While the globalization has been integrating the world economy into one huge market, what does “local brand” really mean? It would be regarded as a series of efforts to define what the uniqueness of a specific region is and to communicate it to the world, thoroughly valuing its regional characteristics and strengths. In fact, there have been a variety of branding activities in the industries such as agriculture, forestry, fishery, food, traditional craft, trade and tourism. Through the branding process, the image of the region, as well as its products and services, could be raised, bringing differentiation and competitiveness to the local brand in both domestic and overseas markets. This course provides an overview of theories, methods and best practices relating to the establishment of local brand.
