Outline (in English)

【Outline】
Civil law is the most fundamental and important law in civil life. Civil law is broadly divided into property law, which centers on transactions, and family law, which centers on family life.Since this lecture is aimed at students in the business administration department, I will focus on the former property law.
Specifically, we will study matters that are directly related to our lives (contractual relationships such as sales contracts and property rights such as ownership).
【Goal】
It is necessary to fully understand the basic legal system related to living relations centered on transactions, and to build a background in which the specialized knowledge of the Faculty of Business Administration is even more effective.
Specifically, it is necessary to acquire sufficient legal knowledge about the following. (1) Requirements for effective conclusion of contract, (2) Contents of claims established by contract, (3) Effectiveness of claims, (4) Changes in property rights and perfection requirements, (5) Means of collateral for claims, especially mortgages and guarantee obligations.
【Work to be done outside of class (preparation, etc.)】
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
【Grading criteria】
Grades will be evaluated based on the total of the mid-term exam (out of 50 points) and the final exam (out of 50 points).
Some people do not take the mid-term exam. If you do not take the exam, you will not be able to earn credits for this course.
In 2022, mid-term and final exams will not be held in the classroom.
The exam questions will be posted in the "Report" of the learning support system. Please answer the attached answer sheet within the specified period of the exam and submit it to the "Report" of the employment support system.
The Civil Code was significantly revised in April 2020. Along with this, the textbook was also revised and updated (Kenzo Miyamoto, "New Conduct Civil Code", May 2020, Sagano Shoin).
Even if you use an old version of the textbook, you will not be able to understand the content of the lecture, and you will not be able to handle the mid-term and final exams, so please prepare the above textbook.
