Outline (in English)

Course outline:
This course aims to examine the problem of ethnicity and multiculturalism in the United States since the latter half of the 20th century from the perspective of social philosophy.

Learning Objectives:
(i) To understand social thought developed in the American multicultural society in line with the contexts in which they were born.
(ii) To apply the social thought acquired in (i) to the concrete problems of contemporary society and broaden your horizons.
(iii) Through (i) and (ii), to acquire a perspective that will serve as a foundation for living in contemporary society.

Learning activities outside of classroom:
I will present related literatures in each lecture, you should read them according to your own interests. The average time required for preparation and review is 2 hours each.

in-class contribution: 30/100, term-end report: 70/100
