Outline (in English)

Course Outline

Community research will be conducted in the City of Kawasaki in the school year of 2022. Special focus will be on interviewing the members of the Kawasaki City Representative Assembly for Foreign Residents.

Learning Objectives

Students will learn the process of conducting social research, find their own themes, deepen problem consciousness and write a seminar paper.

Learning Activities Outside Class

In order to do assignments given in each class either by groups or individuals, preparation activities (sub-seminars) will play an important role. Standard preparation and review duration will be two hours each.

Assessment

Presentations (30%), the spring-term report (30%) and the final report (40%)
