Outline (in English)

授業概要(Course outline) The aim of this course is to help students acquire knowledge of a Japanese literary history in the Meiji Era and to learn the basics of creative writing in Japanese.
到達目標(Learning Objectives) The goals of this course are to know about Japanese cultural history and lean about some writing skills.
授業時間外の学習(Learning activities outside of classroom) Students will be expected to write a work every week and read 7 novels in the term. Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend more than three hours.
成績評価の方法と基準(Grading Criteria /Policies) Grading will be decided based on summaries of the lectures (20%) and the quality of the works (80%).
