Outline (in English)

Course outline : The theme of the seminar is 'The environment in which children and young people grow up'. Based on the recognition that a person's upbringing is the result of the interaction between the 'subject' and the 'environment', we will consider the relationship between children and young people's upbringing and the environment in a comprehensive way, looking not only at formal education (schools) but also at informal and non-formal education. We will consider the relationship between the environment and the upbringing of children and young people holistically. In the seminar, while tracing the process of our own upbringing, we will also look at the children and young people who live in different societies (countries and regions), times and positions from our own.
Learning Objectives : Students are required to develop a broad perspective and insight into the relationship between human development and the environment, become proficient in group work and communication through the participation in a learning community and in fieldwork, and acquire self-expression and become proficient in critiquing others.
Learning activities outside of classroom : In order to work on group work assignments in each of the spring and autumn semesters, students are required to carry out proactive sub-seminar activities outside of class hours.
Your required study time is at least 2 hour for each class meeting.
Grading Criteria /Policy : Students are evaluated on participation in seminar activities such as reports, discussions and fieldwork and the final report at the end of the year. Evaluation will be made on the basis of ordinary points (approx. 50%) and the final report (approx. 50%).
