Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
The aim of this course is to help students acquire the important aspects and knowledge needed to understand today's journalism.
(Learning Objectives)
By taking this course, students should be able to think fully about the followings:
a. realities of today's journalism in Japan.
b. realities of today's journalism in the United States.
c. importance of expressing opinions and discussing with others.
d. importance of writing opinions in a logical manner.
e. importance of respecting and following research ethics.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Their study time will be more than four hours for a meeting.
(Grading Criteria)
The final grade will be decided by the students’ in-class participation and academic performance (100%).
