Outline (in English)
The course will provide students with some of the strategies and skills
they need to successfully take the TOEFL(R) test with a comprehensive
look at each section: reading, listening, writing and speaking.

The purpose of this class is to develop academic skills in English while
building test-taking confidence. The course will cover all four sections
of the TOEFL(R) test.

Students will do a reading and writing assignment for homework every week, and speaking and listening work during class. Classes will focus on testing strategies and on building the vocabulary needed to do well on the test without knowing any strategies at all.
Marks, suggestions, study advice and other feedback will be given weekly, and that feedback will focus on areas in which they need a bit more help.

Students will need internet access and a webcam/mobile phone to take part in the online classes, and two notebooks and a dictionary for both

The TOEFL test can seem very daunting, but it really doesn't have to be. It requires a lot of studying to do well in TOEFL, but this class should give you the tools you need to succeed.
COVID-19 has resulted in many changes. The syllabus above may change slightly over the course of the semester, but the core will remain the same.
