Outline (in English)
授業概要（Course outline） The aim of this course is to help students learn about the American music through English.
到達目標（Learning Objectives） The goals of this course are to improve students' reading ability and increase their knowledge of music and American one.
授業時間外の学習（Learning activities outside of classroom） Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend three hours to understand the course content.
成績評価の方法と基準（Grading Criteria /Policies） Grading will be decided based on the quality of the students' works (80%) and in-class contribution (20%).

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
20世紀アメリカ音楽の歴史についての理解を深めつつ、ロックの歴史に関する英語の文献を読んでいく。
到達目標Goal
音楽一般、またロック、ロックンロールに関する英語のテキストを正確に読めるようになる。また、現代アメリカにおける社会問題についての理解が深まる。

ロックやロックンロールに関する英語のテキストの部分訳を提出してもらい、それをもとに授業を進める。また、授業中に解説、説明したことを参考に、課題で提出してもらった単語や文章を訂正し、最後にまとめて提出してもらう。さらに、毎週、テーマごとの課題を提出してもらう。
提出された課題については、授業中にコメントする。
