Outline (in English)
This course introduces the development of vocational and career education and prospects of education in Japanese junior & senior high schools to students taking this course.
The goals of this course are to
-be able to understand teaching skills, attitudes, and values of junior and senior high school education.
-be able to understand the role of well trained teachers.
-be able to understand the importance of guidance and counseling for junior and senior high school students.

【学習の到達目標】Goal
職業指導（進路指導）の主要な理論を学びつつ、中学校・高等学校の進路指導の現状をふまえつつ、教師として進路指導を実践していく上で必要不可欠な事項について学び、理解を深めることをねらいとする。また、自己理解、職業観の育成を図ることを目標とする。

【科目の概要】Method(s)
職業指導とは、児童・生徒が社会の一員として、自己の存在を理解し、社会での職業や勤労、学校での学習や諸活動に積極的に関わる意欲・態度を持つように、指導・援助することである。本科目では、「職業指導」が求められる背景や成立基盤を理解し、学校や行政機関の職業指導の役割や指導内容を学習する。具体的には、職業指導を支える主要な理論（職業選択理論、職業発達理論など）や自己理解、職業理解の促進方法、また、進路相談の具体的な方法を学ぶことにより、生徒の職業・進路指導にどのように活用できるかを学習する。
【成績評価基準】Grading criteria
最終成績は、単位修得試験によって評価する。（ただし、リポート学習もしっかりと行うこと。）

指定市販本：吉田辰雄（2009年）『最新 生徒指導・進路指導論－ガイダンスとキャリア教育の理論と実践』（教育課程シリーズ）、図書文化社、￥2,000＋税
上記テキストが入手できない場合は、以下の本を代替テキストとする。

通信学習のリポートに添削・講評でフィードバックする。
設題への解答にあたっては、テキストや参考文献、インターネットからそのまま写すことはせず、必ず、自分が理解したことを自分の言葉で論じてください。
