Outline (in English)

[Course outline and learning objectives]
The purpose of this course is to learn various approaches trying to solve the problems our society faces today. A wide range of social issues will be covered, such as relationships with others, modern social norms, practical ethics, and multiple cultures. Students will be expected to broaden their perspectives and deepen their understanding, by participating in group activities and by individual literature study.

[Learning activities outside of classroom]
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.

[Grading Criteria/Policies]
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following: short reports at each class meeting (80%), term-end report (20%)
