Outline (in English)

【Course outline】This class aims to develop a research study with a view to paper preparation by raising problems and solving them through reviews of previous research, experiments, surveys, and data analysis.

【Learning Objectives】By the end of the course, students should be able to:
1. search for and summarize (review) papers containing interest data.
2. understand the experimental and research methods and analysis methods described in the papers.
3. Develop a research plan and prepare a research protocol.
4. To prepare presentation materials and give presentations that are easy to understand for the audience.

【Learning activities outside of the classroom】Students will be required to search and review the literature, prepare presentations, and write research proposals in most sessions. For both individual and group research, it is necessary to set aside time outside of class for experiments, surveys, and preparation for presentations. Therefore, this class's standard preparation and review time is 2 hours each.

【Grading Criteria/Policy】The overall evaluation will be as follows:
1. Contents of experiments, surveys, and presentations(50 %)
2. Contents of final research plan for individual research(20 %)
3. Participation in class such as attendance, comments(30 %)
