Outline (in English)

The aim of this course is to help students acquire an understanding of the basic concepts and methods of statistics. This course mainly deals with descriptive statistics.
At the end of the course, students are expected to understand the concepts of descriptive statistics such as level of measurement, representative value, dispersion, and correlation coefficient and be able to calculate the values mentioned above. In addition, students are expected to acquire a statistical way of thinking by relating statistics to their daily life.
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend two hours to understand the course content.
Grading will be decided based on mid-term and term-end examinations (70%) and in-class contribution (30%).
