Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
Students will set up a problem of their own interest, plan an appropriate survey, conduct the survey, and analyze and discuss the results. The purpose of this course is to deepen students' understanding of research methods in psychology by experiencing the entire research process through surveys. In particular, students will learn the structure of psychological scales and basic statistical analysis.

[Learning Objectives]
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:
 1.Students can understand structures of psychological scales.
 2.Students can perform factor analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis.
 3.Students can analyze the acquired data using appropriate statistical methods.
 4.Students can communicate research results accurately and efficiently.
 5.Students can explain the flow of a questionnaire survey, from literature collection to survey implementation and analysis.

[Learning activities outside of classroom]
Since the students will be asked to work in groups, they are expected to actively engage in discussions, search for previous research, and read literature outside of class. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

[Grading Criteria /Policy]
The overall grade of the class is determined based on the following.
In-class contribution 40%, research plan presentation 15%, main presentation 25%, group activities 20%.
