Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
This seminar is an introduction to literary studies. Students will learn how to discuss literary texts in a critical way through the close reading of The Magician's Nephew.
[Learning objectives]
At the end of the course, participants should have acquired the knowledge and skills needed to analyze literary texts and will be able to discuss them logically from their own viewpoint.
[Learning activities outside of classroom]
Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the text closely and prepared for the discussion. The required study time is at least four hours for each class meeting.
[Grading criteria /Policy]
Grading will be decided based on in-class contribution (30%), presentation (30%) and final essay (40%).
