Outline (in English)

Course outline: This course provides students with a basic knowledge of English phonetics and phonology.

Learning Objectives: The goal of this course is to acquire basic knowledge of phonetic and phonology of Japanese and English, and understand how phonetic and phonological differences between Japanese and English affect the way native speakers of Japanese learn English.

Learning activities outside of classroom: It is necessary to review the class each time. Students are required to study at least four hours outside of classroom.

Students are required to study at least four hour outside of classroom.


Grading Criteria /Policy: Final exam 80%, Assignment 20%
