Outline (in English)
Course Outline: This course is intended to deepen knowledge and understanding about the classical language of Okinawa. In addition, I aim at improving students’ “power to think” about Japanese.
Learning Objectives: The goal of this course is to deepen understanding about the classical language of Okinawa.
Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom: Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend two hours to understand the course content.
Grading Criteria/Policy: The final grade will be calculated according to the following process: short reports (40%); term-end examination (40%); and in-class contribution (20%).

沖縄の祭祀歌謡集である『おもろさうし』を読み進める。主に、『おもろさうし』にあらわれる「オモロ語」と本土の大和語を比較することを通して、日本語学の基礎知識を習得すると共に語学的な研究法を学ぶ。

※授業の初めに、前回の授業で提出されたリアクションペーパーからいくつか取り上げ、全体に対してフィードバックを行う。
