Outline (in English)

This course will study the basic knowledge of cognitive linguistics. Through the Japanese, English, Chinese language examples, we will understand how the cognitive subject's construe is reflected in the meaning and structure of the language.

(Learning Objectives)
The goal of this course is to understand the basic concepts and ideas of cognitive linguistics.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Before/after each class, students will be expected to spend three or four hours understanding the course content.

(Grading Criteria /Policy)
Overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following parts:
- Assignments: 40%
- Reaction paper: 20%
- Term-end report: 40%
