Outline (in English)

<Course Outline> Choose the form of expression that suits you for creative writing in Japanese.
<Learning Objectives> Any genre of creative writing is acceptable, but students should determine the form of expression they create on the condition that they like to read works in that form. Students will also learn to understand literary works internally from the author's point of view, as a prerequisite for literary creation. The students will then improve their language skills by challenging themselves to write original works, not only through imitation.
<Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom> I will give you instructions as necessary, but it is especially important that you write during the summer vacation. Take time to prepare, and work on your writing style and content from the spring semester. The standard preparation and review time for this class is two hours each.
<Grading Criteria/Policy> Evaluation will be based on research presentations (30%), participation in seminar activities (20%), and the content of creative work (50%).
