Outline (in English)

We will study how to analyze the structures and meanings of the Japanese we use in our daily life.
The objectives of this course are (1) to understand the claims and evidence of research papers correctly, (2) to learn how to give a review presentation, and (3) to learn how to use corpora in order to investigate a variety of Japanese expressions.
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
presentations (30%), discussions (30%), assignments (40%).
