Outline (in English)

Course Outline: The aim of this course is to read Genji monogatari (The Tale of Genji) intensively.
Learning Objectives: By the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:
− Read ancient texts accurately
− Discover problems and investigate deeply
− Give a clear presentation
− Discuss with everyone
Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom: Students will be expected to continue reading Part 1 of Genji monogatari. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
Grading Criteria/Policy: Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following: presentation (50%); and participation in discussion (50%).
