Outline (in English)

Course Outline: We study Japanese classics focusing on Kojiki and Man’yōshū. The aim of our study is to acquire basic skills to write a bachelor’s thesis, such as how to read works of classic literature and how to do research on them.
Learning Objectives: To learn how to study classical literature.
Learning Activities Outside of the Classroom: Read materials that were dealt with or mentioned in class. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours for one lecture.
Grading Criteria/Policy: Grading will be based on a term paper (60%) and class performance (40%, evaluating participation in the seminar, presentations, etc.).
