Outline (in English)

【Course Course Outline】 This class studies the history of literature of the Nara and Heian periods.
【Learning Objectives 】To learn about the characteristics of expression in classical literature and the background to the formation of the literary works of the time.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】 Read through the textbook. Standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】Evaluation will be based on the submission of reports (60%) and the submission of several assignments and reaction papers (40%).
