Outline (in English)

The aim of this course is to acquire an understanding of Japanese philosophy through reading thoroughly "Nihonryouiki" and "Ethics" by Watsuji Tetsuro . By the end of this course, students should be able to fully grasp the background of Japanese thought in modern times.
Student will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class. Your study time will be more than six hours for a class.
Grading will be decided based on the quality of the students' experimental performance in the lab 50%, in-class contribution 30%, and term-end reports 20%.
