Outline (in English)

(Course outline) Last year we read Aristophanes, Xenophon, Plato and Aristotle, and challenged the Socratic Problem anew. This year we renew the subject and read mainly the texts of Xenophon and Plato to grasp Socrates' personality and thoughts.
(Learning Objectives) The goals of this course are careful reading of texts, and understanding of the way Socrates thinks and estimation of his personality and thoughts.
(Learning activities outside of classroom) Before/after each
class meeting, students will be expected to spend two hours
to understand the course content.
(Grading Criteria /Policy) Final grade will be calculated
according to the following process, term-end examination
(50%), and in-class contribution(50%).
