Outline (in English)

The primary aim of this course is to provide students with a basic understanding of ecology and a knowledge of the global environment and the origins of ecosystems. Secondly, building on this understanding to investigate and reflect on the connections between people and ecosystems, and between themselves and the global environment. Furthermore, this course will focus on coral reef ecosystems as a concrete example. Through these processes, the students in this course aim to develop the ability to understand information and to have their own ideas about the current global environment and about the expected future changes in the global environment and ecosystems.

By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
1.Understanding the formation of the global environment and ecosystems.
2. Acquisition of ecological basic knowledge.
3. Verify the connection with your life.
4. Acquisition of ways of thinking in response to global warming.

Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four two hours to understand the course content.

Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following term-end examination: 60%、reports :40%.
