Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
This course focuses on "actors" in global society, which are not only nation-states but also NGOs and private companies. It enables students to analyze the global issues from various perspectives and to recognize the significance of "actor-oriented" and theoretical approach in international studies.

(Learning objectives)
The goals of this course are to A, B, and C.
A. Students become able to explain how vairous actors including non-state actors have effect on international relations.
B. Students become able to theoretically explain issues related to international relations.
C. Students become able to correctly understand content of related materials.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
A. Students will be expected to read news articles on international relations every day.
B. Students will be expected to study materials to be used in the class before each class. Standard time required for this study will be an hour.
C. Students will be expected to study reference material shown in the class after each class. Standard time for this study including writing a short report will be three hours.

(Grading criteria/policy)
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following: Short reports: 60%, Term-end report: 40%.
