Outline (in English)

A accurate diagnosis and control of crop pests is important for plant clinic. There are various pest control methods such as using pesticides, using natural enemy and so on. Recently, IPM (Integrated Pest Management) and IBM (Integrated Biodiversity Management) are focused as pest control methods in agriculture of environmental conservation type. The aim of this course is to help students acquire knowledges about various pest control methods consisted for IPM or IBM systematically.
The objective of the class is to acquire basic information on the control of agricultural and forestry pests and greening plant pests, which is one of the core technologies in plant clinical science. Through this course, students are expect to gain understanding of various pest control methods and will be able to provide practical guidance when working in agricultural production and greening management.
Students are not required to prepare for the class, but are expected to review technical terms using reference books and handouts. For assignments, refer to the relevant books in the library and websites, and try to fully understand what you have learned in the class.
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Term-end examination: 50%、Short reports : 30%、attend classes: 20%
