Outline (in English)

In this lecture, we will learn the adult guardianship system from the standpoint of advocacy of human rights.
Specifically, we will
(1) Explanation of civil and administrative laws related to adult guardianship system.
(2) Learning about social welfare projects and services complementing the adult guardianship system.
(3) Explanation and examination of practical cases.
(4) Review the perspectives, values, and ethics of rights protection in social work.

Learning Objectives are follows.
・Understand the concept of rights protection and the outline of related laws and systems.
・Understand the relevant laws of the adult guardianship system, contents of the legal guardianship and voluntary guardianship systems, procedural methods, problems and issues in the systems, and issues in practice, and be able to explain and discuss case studies.
・To be able to confirm the perspective of rights protection in case studies.

The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

Grading Criteria will be based on the final exam (60%) and the normal score (40%).
