Outline (in English)

Course outline: This course introduces Africa from various perspectives such as nature, ecology, culture, society, history, transitions and other issues. Students will learn about the diverse of Africa and acquire the knowledge and methods of some disciplines such as regional geography, area studies, anthropology, and so on.
Learning objectives: The goals of this course are, first, to understand Africa properly with its characteristics and diversity, second, to learn methods of regional geography, area studies, anthropology and other related disciplines, and third, to develop the skill to discuss and express logically.
Learning activities outside of classroom: Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand course content.
Grading criteria/policy: Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following; Mid-term report(30%), short tests and reports(70%).
