Outline (in English)

The aim of this course is to learn about Japan from the Paleolithic Age to the Kofun period.
Students will be able to describe the cultural characteristics of each period based on archaeological materials.
Students will be able to examine how people in each period responded to their natural and social environments.
Students will be able to explain and compare the characteristics of human groups from the Paleolithic to the Kofun period.
The standard preparation and review time by students is 2 hours each.
The final grade will be calculated based on the final exam (70%) and normal score (30%).
