Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
Among various fields of applied linguistics, this course mainly concentrates on theoretical aspects of first and second language acquisition and second language acquisition in the classroom.
【Learning Objectives】
At the end of the course, students are expected to understand basic concepts of first language acquisition and second language acquisition as well as language acquisition in the classroom.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the relevant chapter from the textbook and completed the required assignments. The required study time is four hours for each class meeting.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Grading will be decided based on unit tests (40%), homework assignments (45%), and in-class contribution (15%).
