Outline (in English)

1. Course Outline

The objective of this course is to lecture on Social Policy.

The outline is as follows:
-1. History of Social Policy;
-2. Japanese employment practices and Social Policy;
-3. Dismissal regulations;
-4. Working hours regulation.


2. Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
-A. You can understand exactly what is the problem in today's society on the themes that have been discussed for a long time in "social policy" such as working hours, wages, and employment stability.
-B. You can summarize your own way of thinking about how to solve problems while imagining the ideal national image of the future on themes that have been discussed for a long time on "social policy" such as working hours, wages, and employment stability.
-C. You can persuasively explain your own way of thinking summarized in B on the themes that have been discussed for a long time on "social policy" such as working hours, wages, and employment stability.


3. Learning Activities Outside of Classroom

Lecture/Exercise(two-credits)
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.

Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
