Outline (in English)

This course is a basic lecture on the logistics industry and logistics management sponsored by Japan Association for Logistics and Transport (JALoT). The main objectives include understanding the importance, structure, functions, and basic activities of the logistics industry. Senior managers coming from more than ten big logistics firms will serve as lecturers, delivering basic and practical knowledge related to main logistics sectors including ocean freight, coastal freight, courier, warehousing, railway freight, air freight, packaging, 3PL, etc. Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments and feedback after each class meeting. Questions and active participation in the class will be welcomed. Your overall grade in the class will be determined based on the following: Term-end examination (50%), Short tests (30%), Class contribution (20%).
