Outline (in English)

In this class, we will learn the basic characteristics of adult learning and understand that various types of learning are produced in our lives in contemporary society, as they relate to themselves and to the educational practices of their respective communities.
Therefore, based on specific examples, we will discuss the following two perspectives. The first is the role and scope of "adult and community education" in confronting the various problems of contemporary society. The second is the role and significance of adult and community education staff and learning facilitators who support residents' interactive learning.

【Learning Objectives】
By the end of the course, you should be able to do the followings:
  A. Capture and outline the meaning of what we are learning in our community.
  B. Understand the role of those who support mutual learning among learners and be able to proactively consider conditions and methods to promote better learning among learners.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
During the spring semester, you will read and review literature assigned by the teacher based on your own interests. In the fall semester, we will be analyzing practical records of adult and community education projects that deal with learning about contemporary issues for a sustainable society.
You are encouraged to read them and organize your thoughts before the day of class. In addition, depending on the session, you may be asked to prepare resumes for each other.
Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.

【Grading Criteria /Policies】
Overall evaluation will be based on active participation in class (40%) and reports from the summer vacation and the end of the school year (30% each).
