Outline (in English)
Students will engage in readings and discussion of non specialist issues in the area of healthcare. Weekly readings with be followed by a variety activities to activate relevant vocabulary and expressions appropriate for discussing the topic.

To develop students' awareness and ability to discuss healthcare issues and lifestyle choices in the modern world.
到達目標Goal
To expand students’ English competence through readings, listening and discussions on the theme of health. Students will read and listen to articles about health issues and demonstrate their understanding of texts through applying the issue to their personal experience, and communicate with other students and teacher about those responses.

Lessons are topic-based. Each week students will share experiences and opinions about a topic introduced by the teacher by weekly worksheets, with feedback from the teacher on student answers. Questions will be both direct or discussion-based. Feedback on assignments submitted by students will be provided in class or through the Learning Management System.
This class will be online. Worksheets will be uploaded weekly to Hoppii and classes will be conducted over Zoom.Please note that the teaching approach may vary according to which threat level we are at. The details will be announced through the Learning Management System.

Students need to prepare for and review each session by using textbooks, references, and distributed materials. Background readings/Internet searches will be assigned in preparation for next class. Any class work unfinished in class time can be finished outside class.

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
2 x essays. one at mid-term, one at end of term. (2 x 50%) These essays will express the student's opinions about the topics discussed in the preceding lessons.
