Outline (in English)

 This course will concentrate the research on East Asian and Chinese economic development by taking different point of views. The special attention will be given to the concerns like, why economic high growth in the area has been realized so successfully, what backgrounds, conditions and characteristics existed there, and so on. The course is consisted of two parts. The first part focuses on East Asia study. Various theories, models and hypothesis will be introduced and demonstrated. The second part will study a newly emerging economic power in East Asia -- China. The “China miracle” will be discussed in detail.
